Surviving are children, John Nachtigall, Ramon Nachtigall, Rosa Brunsma, and Nita Michels; seven grandchildren, seven great-grandchildren, a sister, Edith Piper and a brother, Dan Kauffman.
A grandson, Nick Michels and her siblings, Marion Jones; Roy, Joe, and Walt Kauffman; Rose Mason; and Gertrude Powell preceded her in death.
Grace was born April 10, 1914, near Hopedale, Illinois She was the 4th of 9 children in the family of Noah and Kate Egli Kauffman. Shortly after high school she completed her nurses training practicing as an RN in many communities including Puerto Rico and 9 years (1960-1969) at the University of Iowa Hospitals first in the eye department and later with Inservice Education. Grace served as a nurse with MCC in Puerto Rico which led to her marriage to Wilbur Nachitgall and their service as missionaries under MBM. She retired from her nursing career in 1977. Her dedication to her Christian faith and church ministry was paramount in her life. Because of her commitment and faith she portrayed strong values, integrity, honesty, dignity, humor, and grace (as she was rightly named).
Grace is reunited with her loving husband, Pastor Wilbur Nachtigall who preceded her in death in 2003.
Memorial services were held July 12, 2014 at First Mennonite Church, Iowa City, IA.

Ellen was a homemaker who was very devoted to her family. She enjoyed quilting and writing short stories and poems. Ellen also authored and had published a children's story book.
Ellen was a devout follower of Jesus. Known for her loving acceptance of people, she and Clarence graciously opened their home to others, whether to share a delicious meal or to live there when needing a place to stay. She was a member of Kinzer Mennonite Church and also the former Mount Pleasant Mennonite Church. She served as a Sunday School teacher for over 60 years and was a member of several sewing circles and enjoyed volunteering at area Re-Uzit shops.
Born in East Petersburg, Ellen was the daughter of the late Amos and Mabel (Hershey) Rutt and her late step-mother Cora (Harbold) Rutt. Ellen was raised by her Uncle Mark and Aunt Anna Hershey after the death of her mother. In addition to Clarence, she is survived by their children: C. Melvin married to Dorothy (Groff) Neff of Ronks, Ann married to Robert Eshleman of Paradise, Mabel Merk of Strasburg, Donald married to Doris (Hershey) Neff of Paradise, Clair married to Nancy (Illingworth) Neff of Landisville and Joyce married to Chris Slabaugh of Quarryville; an "adopted" daughter, Kathy married to Michael Frick of Hershey; 18 grandchildren; 34 great-grandchildren; and a sister, Anna Mary Hershey of Landisville. She is also survived by Mark and Anna Hershey's eight children. Ellen was preceded in death by an infant daughter in 1945, a grandson, Dustin Neff, four brothers, Mervin, Amos, Ira and Lloyd Rutt, and three sisters, Elizabeth Foreman, Erma Herr and Grace Shirk .
The family would like to thank the staff at QPRC for their kindness and loving care.
There will be a viewing on Monday, September 15, 2014, from 6 until 8 PM at Quarryville Presbyterian Retirement Community, 625 Robert Fulton Highway, Quarryville, PA, and again on Tuesday, September 16, from 10 until 11 AM at Grace Point Church of Paradise, 8 South Singer Avenue, Paradise, PA. The funeral is 11 AM at the church. Interment will follow in Paradise Mennonite Cemetery.

LAGRANGE - Grace M. Nelson, 94, of LaGrange, died Monday, May 19, at Life Care Center of LaGrange.
She was born on May 25, 1919, in Middlebury Township, to the late Elmer F. and Lydia Ann (Hooley) Murray.
On Nov. 28, 1940, in New York, she married A.B. "Burl" Nelson. He died Feb. 7, 2014.
Surviving are her children, Karen (Thomas) Helmkamp of LaGrange, Craig (Linda) Nelson and Roger (Leslie) Nelson; seven grandchildren; 12 great-grandchildren; one great-great-grandchild; siblings Blanche Hartzler and Doris Klinglesmith, both of Goshen, and Shirley (Floyd) Miller and John (Marilyn) and Paul Murray.
Her siblings, Joella Troyer, Gladys Peebles, Ruth Mawhinney, Orpha Miller and Gerald, Elmer Jr., Franklin and Joseph Murray predeceased her.
Visitation will be from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m. Thursday, May 22, at Frurip-May Funeral Home, 309 W. Michigan St., LaGrange. Funeral services will be at 10 a.m. Friday, May 23, at First United Methodist Church of LaGrange, 209 W. Spring St., LaGrange. Burial will follow in Greenwood Cemetery in LaGrange.

DALTON -- Verda Neuenschwander, 88, Dalton, passed away Sunday, Aug. 24, 2014, at the home of her daughter, Marjorie and Allen Schlabach, after a period of declining health.
She was born near Dalton April 9, 1926, to the late Jacob and Lydia (Steiner) Nussbaum and married Wilfred J. Neuenschwander April 26, 1947. He died July 11, 1982.
She attended Boone School during her school years and was a member of Valley View Mennonite Church near Dalton.
Surviving are children Harlan (Mary K.) Neuenschwander, Marjorie (Allen) Schlabach, Darry (May) Neuenschwander and Jim (Ruby) Neuenschwander, all of Dalton, Lillian (Harlan) Martin of Orrville, Jerry (Carol) Neuenschwander of Dalton, Wain (Norma) Neuenschwander of Orrville and Elvin (Mary Beth) Neuenschwander of Dalton; 42 grandchildren; 99 great-grandchildren; and a foster brother, Dennis (Eileen) Nussbaum of Bethel, Pa.
In addition to her husband and parents, she was preceded in death by an infant son, Timmy; a grandson, Kevin Martin in 2013; two infant grandsons; three infant great-grandchildren; siblings, Martha Geiser, Caroline Amstutz, Etta Amstutz, Leo, Harvey and Allen Nussbaum.
Funeral services will be Thursday at 10 a.m. at Light of Truth Church (formerly Country View Chapel), 14890 Navarre Road SW, (U.S. Route 62), Wilmot, with the Valley View ministry officiating. Burial will be in the church cemetery.

She was a homemaker and a member of Churchtown Mennonite Church, Groffdale Conference.
In addition to her husband and mother, she is survived by three children: Matthew married to Luella S. (Reiff) Newswanger, Narvon; Andrew Newswanger and Rhoda Newswanger, both at home; five grandchildren: Derek, Landon, Alayna, Tristan, Alex; and 12 siblings: Harriet married to Aaron M. Weaver, WI; Emma married to Melvin Roy Hurst, Denver; Elva Burkholder, Ephrata; Edwin married to Darlene (Horst) Ringler, East Earl; Nancy married to Lowell M. Martin, Newville; James married to Anna S. (Newswanger) Ringler, WI; Elmer married to Susanna B. Addona H. Nissley
(Died August 23, 2014)
Addona H. Nissley, 90, of Harrisonburg passed away on Saturday August 23, 2014 at Oak Lea Nursing Home. Mr. Nissley was born on July 8, 1924 in Wisconsin and was a son of the late Harvey S. and Emma (Slabaugh) Nissley. He worked with volunteer services from 1948 until 1950. In 1956 he began his career of missionary work serving in Puerto Rico and Trinidad, and also at Virginia Mennonite Missions where he also served as Secretary of Missions. Later he served as an interim pastor in Asheville N.C., Chesapeake, Beldor, and Christiansburg. Mr. Nissley also volunteered as a chaplain at Virginia Mennonite Retirement Community. He was a member of Lindale Mennonite Church.
On June 20, 1953 he married the former Mary E. Stauffer who survives. In addition to his wife, Mr. Nissley is survived by his children, A. Mark Nissley of Rawley Springs, Ruth Kidney and husband Bob of Charlottesville, Tim Nissley and wife Miriam of Charlottesville; siblings, Nora Miller of Indiana, Rosa Miller of Wisconsin, Dorothy Miller of Indiana; grandchildren, Brandon Kidney, Rachel Kidney, Matthew Nissley, Benjamin Nissley, David Nissley, Maria Nissley, Anna Nissley; numerous and nieces and nephews.
In addition to his parents, Mr. Nissley was preceded in death by his siblings, Mattie Graber, Daniel Nissley, Eli Nissley, Ira Nissley, Joe Nissley, Lydia Mullet, Alvin Nissley, and Clara Mast.
A graveside service for family and friends will be held on Thursday August 28, 2014 at 11 AM at Lindale Mennonite Church Cemetery. A memorial service will be held at Lindale Mennonite Church on Thursday at 1:30 PM. The family will receive friends on Wednesday evening from 6:30 PM until 8:30 PM at Lindale Mennonite Church. She was the daughter of the late Aaron and Hettie (Burkhart) Weaver. She was preceded in death by her two husbands, Charles W. Gehman, who died in 1976, and Ira Nissley, who died in 2010; her sisters, Anna Mary Shirk, Mabel Mellinger; and brothers, Mark Weaver and Arthur Weaver as well as one step grandson.
Minerva had a true servant's heart, always giving to others through her gift of hospitality. She enjoyed entertaining, baking, gardening, and caring for others in need.
She was a founding member of First Deaf/Witmer Heights Mennonite Church.
Minerva is lovingly missed by her children, Nelson (Phyllis Yoder) Gehman, Leola; Nancy (The Rev. John) Leaman, Bird-in-Hand; Sally (Randall) Martin, Ambler; and five stepchildren, Gerard (Rhoda) Nissley, Elverson; Robert (Janelle) Nissley, Hungry Horse, MT; John (Lois) Nissley, Findlay, OH; Louise (Art) Good, Kouts, IN; and Lynda (Daryl) Miller, Olathe, KS. She is also survived by 9 grandchildren, 11 step grandchildren, 3 great-grandchildren and 23 step great-grandchildren.

Elam was a farmer and a block mason, and later he owned and operated Nolts Excavating in New Holland from 1977 until 2006 when he retired. He was a member of Groffdale Mennonite Church, Weaverland Conference. He enjoyed fishing and woodworking, making walking canes along with toys.
Surviving in addition to his wife are four children, Ada, married to Gerald Martin of New Holland, Sadie, married to Paul Good of Narvon, Steven R., married to Mary (Weaver) Nolt of East Earl, and Ethel, married to Ivan Kulp of New Holland; 10 grandchildren; 9 great grandchildren; and four sisters, Lydia, married to James Reiff of Farmersville, Martha, married to Joseph Oberholtzer of Leola, Esther, married to David Sauder of Colby, WI, and Elva Nolt of New Holland.

Born in New Holland, he was the son of the late Mahlon and Ella (Wenger) Nolt. His wife, Esther G. (Musser) Nolt, died Nov. 24, 2010.
Elam was a chicken farmer most of his life, but he also worked at Gehman Feed Mill in Denver, Royer's Bakery in Denver, Galen's Hardware in Ephrata, and Victor F. Weaver Poultry in New Holland, retiring in 1984.
Elam was a member of the Centerville Mennonite Church and he enjoyed woodworking.
Surviving are eight children, Arlene, married to Donald Groff of Stevens, Marvin, married to Rhoda (Kolb) Nolt of Stevens, Dorothy, married to Dale Weaver of East Earl, Lois, married Ivan Ray Sensenig of Ephrata, Arthur, married to Erla (Sensenig) Nolt of Clare, MI, Carl, married to Joyce (Nolt) Nolt of Peach Bottom, Warren, married to Lois (Graybill) Nolt of Dodge Center, MN, and James, married to Rosene (Nolt) Nolt of Peach Bottom; 39 grandchildren; and 107 great grandchildren.
Preceding him in death is a daughter, Marian Groff; two grandchildren, Daryl Nolt and Rosalie Nolt; a sister, Elizabeth Weber; and three brothers, Milton, Elmer, and Edwin Nolt.
Funeral services will be held on Monday, July 14, at 10 a.m. at the Centerville Mennonite Church, 197 Sensenig Road, Ephrata. Interment will be in the adjoining cemetery. Born in Lancaster County, she was the daughter of John Weaver and Brenda J. (Stauffer) Martin of Ephrata.
Jolene worked in the health care industry as a certified nursing assistant for four years. She was also a member of Weaverland Mennonite Church.
In addition to her husband and her parents, she is survived by her in-laws, Galen L. and Betty S. Born in New Holland, he was the son of the late Reuben and Emma (Sauder) Nolt. He was a member of New Holland Mennonite Church where he was formerly a trustee and helped with the New Holland Early Learning Center.
Melvin worked in agriculture-related businesses, including sales and farming. Later he worked part time at Manheim Auto Auction.
Surviving are his children: Shirley Ludwig of Stone Harbor, NJ, Fred Nolt of Gap, Faye, married to Gerald Bender of Lancaster, Kathy, married to Rob Barr of East Petersburg, and Ken, married to Charlene Nolt of Landis, NC; six grandchildren and 12 great grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by a sister and a brother.

A homemaker, Naomi helped her husband operate a 72-acre family farm in West Hempfield Township. She was a member of Chestnut Hill Mennonite Church where she was a faithful deacon's wife for 31 years and a former Sunday School teacher. She also volunteered at the Mount Joy Gift & Thrift. Naomi enjoyed traveling with her husband and they toured 49 states and Canada. She also enjoyed cooking and entertaining pastors and groups in their home for meals and as overnight guests. Her interests included writing poetry, memorization, playing Scrabble and games with family and friends.
Surviving is a daughter, Carolyn N. wife of Ben ?DeVerter of Smoketown, two sons, C. Lamar husband of Lisa Shertzer Nolt of Lancaster, Frank L. husband of JoAnn Padula Nolt of Lititz, five grandchildren, fifteen great grandchildren and a sister, Evelyn Landis of Milton.
She was preceded in death by one sister, Mabel Moyer and two brothers, Cloyd and Lester Wenger.

She also excelled at hospitality, frequently serving family and friends wonderful meals at their home or cabin.
Married to the late Melvin H. BETHEL - Eileen Yvonne (Hooley) Nussbaum of Bethel was born to D. Leroy and Hazel (Shank) Hooley on July 17, 1942, at Oregon City, Ore. She departed this life on October 6, 2014, being 72 years, 2 months and 19 days. She was a member of the Little Mt. Mennonite Church of Fredericksburg.
On September 24, 1965, she was united in marriage to Dennis Nussbaum. This union was blessed with two sons and six daughters, Delores, wife of Ronald Weingard, Townsville, Brenda of Newmanstown, Freda, wife of Ivan Newswanger, Jr., of Woodbury, Lamar and wife Linda of Richfield, and Marjorie, wife of Andrew Otto of Waterloo, N.Y. They were also blessed with 20 grandchildren.
Also surviving are brothers, Kenneth and wife Jean of Amelia, Va., John and wife Teresa of Walker, La. and Paul of Watson, La.; sisters, Vera wife of Harvey Byler of Whiteville, Tenn., Sally wife of Irvin Steiner of Lebanon, and Ruth, wife of James Stover of Barnwell, S.C.; plus numerous nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her parents, infant daughters, Twila and Debra, a son Kevin and a brother-in-law Harvey Byler.
A funeral service will be held on Thursday, October 9, 2014 at 10 a.m. at the Little Mt. Mennonite Church, 391 Musselman Road, Fredericksburg. GOSHEN - Irvin A. Nussbaum, 89, died Thursday, July 10, at IU Health Goshen Hospital.
He was born April 11, 1925, in Kidron, Ohio, to Amos A. and Lydia (Falb) Nussbaum.
The seventh of nine children, he grew up in the Swiss community of Sonnonburg/Kidron. He attended Kidron Grade School and later Hesston College in Kansas. He also took some classes at Elkhart Mennonite Seminary.
On June 26, 1948, he married Arlene Steiner. She died June 29, 1988.
Surviving children include Ray (Kay) Nussbaum of Salem, Ore., Larry (Cheryl) Nussbaum of Lawrence, Kan., Dean (Bonita) Nussbaum of Eugene, Karen (Harold) Miller of Broadway, Va., Marlin (Karla) Nussbaum of Poplar Grove, Ill., Ted (Kathy) Nussbaum of Kodiak, Alaska, and LaJane (Bill) Moore of Ashland, Ohio; 21 grandchildren; and five great-grandchildren.
Irvin married Nelda (Zehr) Glick on Aug. 19, 1990. Her surviving children are Phil Glick of Orlando, Fla., Kim (Mari) Glick of Goshen, Kevin (Sue) Glick of Akron, Pa., and Mike (Diane) Glick of Goshen; seven surviving grandchildren, one deceased; and nine great-grandchildren. Irvin is also survived by a brother, Nathan (Ruby) Nussbaum of Goshen.
He was preceded in death by seven siblings, Elma (Ruben) Bixler, Lila (John Zook and Dan Lehman), Gilbert (Olive) Nussbaum, Laura (Lores) Hofstetler, Clarence (Luella) Nussbaum, Rosa (Loyal) Kratzer and Delvin (Ruth) Nussbaum.
Irvin served his country as a conscientious objector during World War II at a base camp in Luray, Va., and at a mental hospital in Farnhurst, Del. After the war, he traveled on a cattle boat to deliver horses to Poland.
He farmed in Kidron and Walker, Mo., and was a pastor at churches in Hutchinson, Kan.; Walker; Benton; Fisher, Ill.; Manson, Iowa; and Cairo, Neb.
Some of his other occupations were teaching winter Bible school, construction work, masonry, working at a feed mill, dairy delivery and working at Starcraft. Irvin retired in 1987 to Kidron, where he worked at a woodworking shop and in farm delivery. After Irvin and Nelda married they settled in Goshen, where Irvin enjoyed volunteering at Goshen Hospital. He was most recently a member of Waterford Mennonite Church.
Family and friends may call from 6 to 9 p.m. Tuesday, July 15, at Yoder-Culp Funeral Home, 1911 S. Main St., Goshen, and for an hour prior to the 11 a.m. Wednesday, July 16, graveside service and burial at Kidron Mennonite Church in Kidron. A 7:30 p.m. Wednesday, July 16, memorial service will be at Waterford Mennonite Church, 65975 S.R. 15, Goshen.

GOSHEN - Franklin Dale Oyer, 85, passed away Saturday evening, Nov. 15, at his home.
He was born in Perrinton, Mich., on March 18, 1929, to Elmer J. Oyer and Dora (Springer) Oyer.
Frank grew up on a farm and learned a lot about farming and repairing anything mechanical from his father. At a very young age Frank knew that he wanted to work as a mechanic.
Frank attended Bethel Mennonite church near St. Johns, Mich., with his family, and became a member of the church there. In 1946 Frank's family moved from Michigan to Fisher, Ill., and they joined East Bend Mennonite congregation near Fisher.
Frank graduated from Paxton High school in 1947.
He also met and married Joyce Cender at East Bend Mennonite Church in 1949.
After 65 years of marriage, she survives along with three sons, Stephen Lee, (Verna), Stanley Dale (Jane) and Franklin Kent (Michelle) Oyer; 11 grandchildren, Mark, Melissa, Michael, Matthew, Sam, Jordan, Jeffrey, Shelby, Nicholas, Jessica and Zachary; and three great-grandchildren, Maya, Noah and Hannah Roberts. Also surviving are five brothers, Sanford (Virginia) Oyer, Melvin (Ruth) Oyer, Wesley (Virginia) Oyer, John (Jolene) Oyer, and Robert (Rebecca) Oyer; and two sisters, Donna Cripe and Janet (Joseph) Harnish.
He was preceded in death by his parents, and a brother-in-law, Donald Cripe.
Frank was a mechanic most of his life, serving in Puerto Rico from 1955 to 1958 as the mechanic for Mennonite Missions and Ulrich Foundation, and returning to Puerto Rico from time to time throughout the 90s to work at Academia Menonita Betania in Aibonito.
In 1963, Frank opened Quality Glass Services in Goshen. He then used his mechanical skills to install glass in automobiles, homes, businesses, and new construction. Frank retired from his business and moved to a farm near Goshen. He remodeled a building on the farm into a shop and enjoyed many hours working on many things, especially old cars. He shared his shop and equipment with friends and neighbors, and he used his mechanical skills to help many people.
Another way he enjoyed helping others was keeping his ice cream freezers going for the church, the relief sale in Goshen and in Michigan, and for Goshen College making lots of ice cream for each place as they needed. He had a team of fellows helping him in this endeavor and he always enjoyed the places they would go.
Friends may call from 4 to 8 p.m Wednesday, Nov. 19, at the Koinonia Room at College Mennonite Church, where a 10:30 a.m. Thursday, Nov. 20, funeral service will be. The Revs. Pam Yoder and Phil Waite will officiate.
Burial will follow at Violett Cemetery in Goshen.
Yoder-Culp Funeral Home is assisting the family with arrangements.

Ida C. Petersheim, 78, of Topeka, died at 12:20 am on Tuesday, July 8, at her
residence. She was born on June 7, 1936 in LaGrange County, to Chris and
Wilma (Christner) Hochstetler. On December 25, 1958 in LaGrange County,
she married Melvin J. Petersheim, he survives.

GOSHEN - Earl A. Prough, 91, of Goshen, died at 1:02 p.m. Monday, May 12, at IU Health Goshen Hospital.
He was born Sept. 5, 1922, in Elkhart County to the late Perry E. and Mary (Coffman) Prough.
On Dec. 6, 1942, in Goshen, he married Ida Mae Troyer.
Survivors include his wife; children Nancy Rawlings, Sandra (Billy) Miller of Middlebury and June (Cecil) Bontreger and Ronald (Diana) Prough, both of Goshen; nine grandchildren; 24 great-grandchildren; three great-great-grandchildren; and siblings Grace Wyse, Mary Chupp of Elkhart and Harry (Margaret) Prough of Goshen.
He was preceded in death by his sister, Kathleen Stahl; son Jerald Prough; and twin grandsons Dewayne and Lawayne Prough.
He was a member of the American Trotter's Association for over 20 years and won trainer of the year in 1986.
Visitation will be from 5 to 8 p.m. Friday, May 16, at Miller-Stewart Funeral Home, Middlebury, and for an hour prior to the 10:30 a.m. Saturday, May 17, funeral service at Clinton Brick Mennonite Church. Burial will be in Grace Lawn Cemetery.
Memorials may be given to Clinton Brick Mennonite Church.

GOSHEN - Ida Mae Prough, 88, of Goshen, died at 9:45 p.m. Saturday, May 17, at Courtyard of Goshen, on the eve of the funeral of her husband of 71 years.
She was born Oct. 2, 1925, to Emanuel and Ellenora (Kauffman) Troyer.
On Dec. 6, 1942, she married Earl A. Prough; he died May 12.
Surviving are three daughters, Nancy Rawlings, Sandra (Billy) Miller and June (Cecil) Bontreger; son Ronald (Diana) Prough; nine grandchilden, Ryan, Roger, Bryan and Jered Prough, Myron Bontreger, Jackie Reschly, Nick Bontreger, Scott Miller and Stacey Garten; 24 great-grandchildren; three great-great-grandchildren; and a brother, Levoyd (Mary Lou) Troyer.
She was preceded in death by her parents; husband; son Jerald Prough; twin grandsons; two sisters, Alma Harshberger and Joyella Hodge; and a son-in-law, John Rawlings.
Visitation will be from 5 to 8 p.m. Wednesday, May 21, at Miller-Stewart Funeral Home and for one hour prior to the 10:30 a.m. funeral service Thursday, May 22, at Clinton Brick Mennonite Church, Goshen.
Burial will be in Grace Lawn Cemetery, Middlebury.
